FuturePal Privacy Policy

1. Information You Provide Directly

We do not ask for your Social Security number, bank or government account credentials, medical records, or uploaded identity documents through the Service.

• Contact information such as your name, email address and mobile phone number.
• Information you submit through FuturePal intake forms, questions and conversations.
• Education, career and interest information — for example the field or program you are exploring, current education level, work history, schedule and availability, approximate income range, location and similar details used to provide educational answers, recommendations, or matches with relevant programs and services.
• Consent records, including the choices you make, the wording shown to you, and the time and context of that choice.

2. Information Collected Automatically

• IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser type, device type and operating system.
• Referral information, landing pages, UTM parameters, click identifiers and other attribution identifiers.
• Session information such as pages viewed, interactions, time stamps and the path you took through the Service.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, local storage, pixels and similar technologies to keep your session working, remember your progress, understand how the Service is used, and measure the performance of our advertising and partner referrals.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Some features of the Service may not work correctly if you do.

4. How We Use Information

• To provide, operate, maintain and improve the Service.
• To personalize content, answers and recommendations for you.
• To verify contact information you provide, including sending one-time verification codes you request.
• To detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, spam and other harmful or unlawful activity.
• To measure site performance and the performance of advertising and partner referrals.
• To connect you with third-party providers when you request or consent to that interaction.
• To communicate with you about the Service and to respond to your requests.

5. Mobile Phone Numbers and SMS

If you provide a mobile phone number and ask us to verify it, we use that number to send you the one-time verification code you requested. These are transactional messages sent at your request, not marketing messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in or consent information collected for FuturePal verification messages will not be sold or shared with third parties for their own SMS marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

This does not limit our separate ability to share your information — which may include your phone number — with a provider when you specifically request or consent to being connected with that provider, as described in the next section. That sharing is based on your own separate, clearly presented choice.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your mobile phone number or SMS consent information for third-party SMS marketing.

• Service providers and processors that help us operate the Service — for example hosting, database, analytics, messaging and fraud-prevention vendors — who may use the information only to perform services for us.
• Third-party schools, training providers, employers and other partners, when you request or consent to being connected with them, so they can respond to your inquiry. Those providers then handle your information under their own privacy policies.
• Advertising and attribution partners, for measuring referral and campaign performance, subject to the SMS restriction described above.
• Legal and safety recipients, when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety or the integrity of the Service.
• A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

7. Data Retention and Security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal, accounting, audit and record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Verification codes are stored only in hashed form and expire within minutes.

We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

To make a request, contact us at support@futurepal.ai. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.

• Access, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
• Ask us to stop contacting you, or reply STOP to any text message.
• Opt out of certain cookies and tracking through your browser or device settings.
• Depending on where you live, request details about the categories of information collected, used and shared, and exercise applicable rights such as the right to opt out of certain sharing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page.
